Recruitment Method

  • 1.5 million Veterans were randomly selected from the enrollment file of 3.7 million Veterans
  • Living enrollees with accurate contact information were sent a prenotification letter, a cover letter and questionnaire, and reminder postcard
  • Study participants included those who returned the completed questionnaire
